Stephen King’s The Stand to Get Multi-Part Film Adaptation

Warner Bros. are behind the film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand.  Josh Boone is attached as the writer/director.  He finished the script and from a recent interview, it appears that everyone was happy with it, so happy in fact, that Warner Bros wants to do it as a multi-part film.  The rumor is that it will be in 4 segments.  Now, multi-part films have become more common in recent years, especially for literary adaptations.  (I.e. The Hobbit)

So now that it looks like The Stand is getting the Hollywood treatment, and they’re going all out.  In addition to this news, rumor has it that Matthew McConaughey is being sought to play Randall Flagg.  Other actors have not been mentioned, but Boone has said that he wants to have an A-list cast.
