Rumor has it that the pilot will be filmed in California. A Reddit user supposedly got a notice that their town may be used for shooting the pilot.
This goes against the supposed casting in Pennsylvania. However, the pilot could be shot in California, then the rest of the series shot in Pennsylvania to save costs. Time will only tell for these details.
Ryan Murphy’s upcoming series “Scream Queens” is set to star Emma Roberts and Jamie Lee Curtis. Roberts revealed that the show will have a vibe similar to Coven, noting the largely female cast is part of the reason. The series is said to have more of a Comedic nature though. It will be interesting what he does with the show in comparison to American Horror Story.
The iconic scene with Drew Barrymore in the original film is being shot with actress Bella Thorne. The series is rumored to center around a YouTube video, and features a new ghostface mask.
Filming that iconic scene can only mean one of two things.
1.) The series is going to be a remake of the film franchise.
Or (and what I believe to be more likely)
2.) It is a nod to the franchise, with the series going meta, a staple of the films.
Either way, I’m interested to see how it plays out.
A teaser trailer for Insidious 3 has been released, you can check it out here.
Insidious 3 is set for a June 5th release next year, and looks like it might be worth seeing. The teaser features a creepy scene, and shows snippets of the story.
The new Friday the 13th will be taking place in the 1980’s, and is said to have both Jason and Pamela Voorhees. Though it is unclear if she will just be a hallucination again, or if we will get to see some mother/son bloody bonding time.
David Bruckner is attached as director, you may know him from V/H/S. They also took the time to crush the rumor that the film will be pg13. “There is no PG-13 version in the world of Jason Voorhees.”.
True Detective director Cary Fukunaga has been announced as the director of the Stephen King’s It remake. The film is set to shoot next summer, so we still have a while til it hits theaters. But Stephen King has given his blessing, saying ‘Go with God, please! This is the version the studio should make’. The 1990 TV miniseries was wonderful, with Tim Curry making an amazing Pennywise, but I am excited to see It get the big screen treatment it deserves. What do you think?
Recently I have taken to reading during my down time at work, and this week I read through Stephen King’s most recent novel, Revival.
It has been a couple of years since I”ve read any of Mr. King’s work, but I”ve been a fan since my first encounter, reading It in middle school. I didn’t know about Revival until I stumbled across it last week, and I must say that I am glad I found it.
The story follows the life of Jamie Morton, from childhood to present day, detailing his ups and downs, and most importantly, his recurring interactions with Reverend Jacobs. It deals with major themes of addiction, loss, fantacism, and plays with the notion of what exists in the afterlife.
Throughout parts of the novel, I did not feel like I was reading a work of horror at all, but sprinkled through out is a trail of breadcrumbs, leading us to a horrific climax in the stylings of H P Lovecraft.
If you haven’t had the chance to pick it up yet, I recommend you do.
