Fans have been worrying that Daryl Dixon’s days were numbered on The Walking Dead. This was started with reports that actor Norman Reedus had put his Atlanta home up for sale.
In a recent interview Reedus squashed these rumors by admitting “that’s not even my house. It’s a rumor.” So fans can rest easy that Daryl’s death isn’t imminent, or at least as imminent as they were thinking.
The Walking Dead is set to begin filming season 6 next week and will premiere in October. Look for the companion series Fear The Walking Dead later this summer.
The companion series to The Walking Dead is on its way. It has been contracted for two season, the first of which will air late summer 2015. This will give us a bit of walker action until the regular series returns in October.
Season 1 of Fear the Walking Dead will be 6 episodes like the original series. It has also been announced that the series will not explain the origin of the zombie apocalypse.
I’m mixed about the series right now. It’s going to be nice having some TWD during the summer and having a shorter wait, but I am sceptical that it will live up to the original series.
Rumor has it that the pilot will be filmed in California. A Reddit user supposedly got a notice that their town may be used for shooting the pilot.
This goes against the supposed casting in Pennsylvania. However, the pilot could be shot in California, then the rest of the series shot in Pennsylvania to save costs. Time will only tell for these details.
Activision has revealed a new game mode for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Exo Zombies. The mode will be included with the first DLC pack, Havoc to be released in January. The DLC will be released for the Microsoft systems first, then come to Sony and PC later in the month. I get a bit of a World War Z (the film, not the book) feel from the trailer. Check it out here and let me know what you think.
Friday Features is a new biweekly post that will highlight a game, book, story, project, etc. that I would like to recommend. Mostly it will be smaller, less known pieces that I enjoy and want to help get the word out about. If you have any recommendations for future Friday Features, or if you have a piece that you would like to be featured, contact me at the email listed on the contact page.
Title: Into the Dead
Media: Mobile Game
Availability: Android, Apple, and Amazon App Stores
Into the dead is a first person action game. With four game modes (classic, massacre, hardcore, and flashlight) it has a high playability. You are constantly moving forward either dodging or killing zombies, utilizing weapon crates and perks to delve deeper into the ranks of the dead. There are missions with 3 objectives each, and by completing these missions you unlock better weapons to use on your runs.
So far ive only played on classic and massacre, but it’s pretty addicting. It’s one of those games where you constantly want to beat your previous high score, and the leaderboard makes it more interesting as well. You can connect through facebook to compete with your friends, and if you do, you unlock a free WWII zombie skins pack.
Sunday’s episode followed Daryl and Carol in their travels to find Beth. We learned a bit about Carol both before the outbreak and her time away from the group.
**the following may contain spoilers**
My hunch about Noah being with Daryl a few episodes was right, though Carol didn’t get herself caught on purpose, instead hit by a vehicle.
The episode had it’s moments, but I couldn’t help but to feel that it simply served the purpose of continuing the story and setting up the next episode. Speaking of which, next episode looks to be a good one, with the group returning to the screen.
Over the past couple of weeks, The Walking Dead creator has revealed a few bits and pieces about the series.
First he dispelled a fan theory about the series. Some fans think that Rick Grimes is still at the hospital in a coma, and that the entire series has been a sort of a dream sequence. Kirkman was quick to dispel this theory.
Another fan theory is that fan favorite character Daryl Dixon is homosexual. There have been reports of this since summer, but Kirkman has put an end to it. ” We have very specific ideas about Daryl’s sexuality (or the seeming lack thereof), and if there’s ever a quiet period in the show where he’s not consistently distracted by crossbowing… we’ll tackle it in the show”. He explained. So there is something of note there, I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Lastly, many fans thought we got a glimpse at the next big villain Negan early in this season. This was quickly explained to not be the case. Kirkman went on to say that we still have a while to go until we see Negan, and that it will not be during this season. I expect we might hear of him or get a glimpse of him in the later end of next season, but my prediction is that Negan wont become a major character in the show until season 7. What do you think?
